Pictured above is a magical fairy wedding. Apparently elemental handfastings have become quite the trend in England, with all the bridesmaids and sometimes even the bride and groom also wearing fairy wings! Love it! This photo comes to us from Fairylove from a marriage gathering which they outfitted for flight. I had this image in mind as I began my day, thinking of fairy-women gathered in trees...
As I drove across the Bay Bridge and through the city with grey concrete, rain, chilly air and cars, my imagination carried me away. I was whisked away into a warm, tropical rainforest, surrounded by lush green plants and abundant, sweet smelling flowers. I wandered through the dense foilage and felt big leaves rub against my bare legs, looking at the sun filtering through the trees. I came upon a waterfall and became entranced by the rainbows created by the water... a crystal blue pool of perfection. All around the water, ravishingly gorgeous Caribbean tribal fairies with perfectly round and bold afros flew about, with shiny ebony skin, precious tiny gemstone necklaces and sparkling eyes. Their wings looked delicate and otherworldly, and otherwise, they were perfectly vivid tiny, beautiful giggling women. They moved so fast, zipping here and there like hummingbirds. Many landed on my shoulders and arms, whispering secrets into my ears and then they smiled, danced and flew away. They seemed to have a lot of important information to share! It was a pack of amazing mini goddesses! I felt completely guided and taken care of. In this deliciously warm environment, overflowing with the smell of rich soil and underbrush, seasalty air and perfumed flowers, I felt completely relaxed. It felt completely natural to be surrounded by magic and delight.
Then I snapped back to my drive... arriving at my appointment for the day's work. I was professional, on-track and focused, but something inside me was softer, more trusting and alight from my morning's journey.
Yay for imagination! A portal to many other dimensions. It works at the speed of light, anytime and anywhere! What a blessing to be able to envision, to play with images and to dream. I am so grateful!
"outfitted for flight" - what a brilliant way to put it! :)
