Driving up to Mt. Shasta
was magical. I listened to some inspiring audios,
including Women on the Edge of Evolution talks. So my mind was already
surging with divine feminine inspiration, profound realizations and excitement by the time the mountain came into view. Gorgeous!
I wasn’t expecting so much snow on it and it felt very regal and icy in the distance. It had it’s telltale extra-terrestrial type clouds overtop and around it, fueling my imagination. There is lore that says that Mt. Shasta is connected to other major sacred sites by underground tunnels, that ancient Lemurians and ascended masters live within it, and are doing transformative work on behalf of the planet. It is also said that each of several sacred sites around the world holds an evolutionary energy key. Once you are called to each place, including Shasta, it can stimulate deep, spiritual awakening and DNA activation. Native peoples have never lived on Mt. Shasta because they consider it so powerful. Shamans and lightworkers often go there to do their training. They say that the tunnels within the mountain creates sounds which teach. A short visit is considered plenty since the area is so activated.
I spent some time at Berryvale, the local organic food market, had lunch, and stocked up on some items to bring to the retreat. I ran into a local hooper, Kara Maia, and it was neat to catch up and hear about her evolving adventures. Next I stopped by the Middle Earth Crystal Room, talked with the beings in there for about an hour and enjoyed myself immensely. Finally, I cruised by Soul Connections and got sucked in for a few hours with their amazing collection of books, statues and other metaphysical odds and ends. I picked up some magnificent crystals who called out to me: a rainbow-filled intergalactic tantric twin citrine who wanted to be held in my hand during the retreat, a “Y” Lemurian crystal which wanted to teach me about the softness of yin based partnership, two twinkling polished twin Lemurians who wanted to live together on one purple pillow as “crystal mates” and one soul family cluster who wanted to teach me how to attract and collaborate with those on the same path. It was interesting to note that most of the crystals I was being magnetized to now a days were no longer “loners” but those comfortable in relationships…hmmm! Then onwards! I kept driving to Weed, California, only 5 miles away, where the hot springs were.
When I first arrived at Stewart Mineral Springs, I felt a moment of pause. I am a bit spoiled when it comes to hot springs centers. Having spent so much time at Esalen and other well established sites, this one was considerably more rustic. I passed a few of dilapidated trailer homes before entering and had a moment’s hesitation about what to expect. While totally rustic and unassuming in it’s construction, accommodations and services, I was totally blown away by what I discovered!
Over the next few day, I discovered that the water is hugely medicinal (you can only experience 30-45 minutes max per day or your skin may react to the high mineral content with a rash). Matsuru Emoto visited last year, took some amazing images of the water crystals here and announced that it was the second most pure water source in the world. I also picked up copy of the water analysis and was surprised by the diversity and magnitude of the mineral content. The corners of each side of the magnified water crystal look like they are meditating buddhas!
The bathhouse is feels like a women’s temple, even though co-ed. You enter through the office, stocked with flower essences, hand-crafted herbal aphroditic facial oils and lotions, jewelry, art, home baked organic yummies, ascended master images, CDs, etc. I was greeted by a sparkling and smiling bath attendant who ushered me into the back area by a massive grid of crystals and a roaring fireplace. There was activated water and tea available. I entered my own private bath room with a claw foot tub, filled it up, got in and soaked. I imagined grids and flashes of light as crystals in the water soothed, nourished and re-aligned my own body’s energy grid. I focused on breathing deeply… In the background women’s goddess chants and drumming was playing. Outside I could hear the loud rushing of the stream through the woods. In the tubs next to me, I could hear women blessing their water and singing. I felt like I was in another time and place.
After the 10 minute max soaking time allowed for first-timers, I went into the massive cedarwood sauna. It was a giant room with a roaring primevil fireplace in the center with leaping bright flames visible through the glass front. The back wall of the sauna had a massive “Y” crystal lodged in it (which amplifies feminine energy). It glowed dimly with some kind of illumination from beneath. There was a massive stack of firewood in back and dim red rope lights gently illuminated from beneath planks. The air was hot, dry and clean feeling and smelled strongly of cedar and sage. I felt as if I had entered a magical purification chamber. What a sensuous experience!
After I got very hot and sweaty,
I left the sauna and went out the back porch area down to the creek. I tried
not to see (though couldn’t help noticing) a sign which announced the water
temperature as 37 degrees. Down the stairs there was a small pool created where
the snow-melted water gathered from the stream before plunging down to continue
on it’s path of descent. I prayed before entering for purification and got in
and out 3 times quickly. It was numbingly cold, invigorating and enlivening. A
beautiful white angel statue overlooked the pool with a smile. I sensed the
water talking to me. My skin tingled. Then I began the whole soak-sauna-plunge
routine again twice more to complete for the day. Each round, my skin felt
awakened and alive, my thoughts slowed even more and I entered a meditative
state. I focused on breathing and imagining light entering my body. This was my daily bathhouse circuit routine
while there.
The land at Stewart Mineral Springs is completely alive, instilling a sense of hyper-sensitivity. Unexpected messages from the land reveal themselves frequently! During one of my morning walks I happened upon a magical set of tree lovers who whispered secrets of divine partnership and unity. I also saw amazing rock beings, flowers and deer who spoke of gentleness and innocence. There are mostly women running the center and they are vibrant and kind. Every night I had profound dreams. I was so moved that I lost any urge to sneak out and drive up the actual mountain of Shasta during any possible free time, knowing the land here was totally connected to that energy. I wanted to get intimate with one place and go deep. I had arrived a day early to get acclimated and was so glad I did! It allowed lots of time to do Theta, walk the land, do the bath-sauna-creek routine and prepare myself.
My first night I continued to read my Theta Healing manual in my cabin, muscle testing myself for beliefs as I went so I could clean things up. I was surprised to find myself testing “yes” on “I am a victim”, so I wrote "Theta Healing for Power". I also found myself testing positive for, “I am alone” so I wrote, “Theta Healing for Connecting to Vibrant Community”. I also found myself testing positive for, “I have to be alone to be with God”, so I wrote, “Theta Healing to Release Past Life Vows as Monk/Nun”. Phew! It felt like such a release. I realized how important it was to get away from my everyday life to have time to go inward…
