YAY! Thanks for this...I've been waiting for it...
I've enjoyed many of the same, and also recommend: the Tao Te Ching translated by Steven Mitchell as well as the definitive edition translated by Jonathan Starr, Divine Magic by Doreen Virtue (plus any/all Doreen Virtue oracle cards ~ I made my own custom deck from my faves out of six different decks), and The Way of the Wizard by Deepak Chopra. Thanks again, and I look forward to any additions. Peace & Love to you & all.

I forgot to mention The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran and Hooping: A Revolutionary Fitness Program by YOU (Christabel Zamor)! I know we're talking books here, but your HoopGirl DVD's are totally transformative & inspiring too! (I have all 3 so far, and even if all I ever did was play along with your Osho warm-up in Hoopdance Evolution...WOW! SO powerfully uplifting and new every time...loving your words.)
I'd also like to throw in my yoga recommendations -- my list on my blog is evolving too:

Of course food is highly transformative, and on that note I am truly enjoying these books: The Art of Raw Living Food by Doreen Virtue & Jenny Ross, The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone, The Soup Peddler's Slow & Difficult Soups by David Ansel, The Vegetarian 5-Ingredient Gourmet by Nava Atlas, Great American Smoothies by Gabriel Constans, and Super Smoothies by by Sara Corpening Whiteford, Mary Corpening Barber, and E.J. Armstrong.

Books of all kinds can and do transform us, and three that pop up in my mind often are The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck, Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer, and Neither Wolf Nor Dog by Kent Nerburn.

I have also read and loved the books by Doreen Virtue - as well as ones by the Hicks and Sonia Choquette. Books like these sent me on a whole new direction in life and I am so grateful to all the authors who generously share their wisdom (including Christabel with her blog!).
Michael Tamura's "You Are the Answer" really helped me recently and I keep it by my bed so that I can refer to it when needed.

Hi Christabel,

Thank you for the excellent recommendations and all of the advice in your site! I always read your blog updates and find them so inspiring and beautiful, your positivity is remarkable.

I wanted to ask, do you have any advice for people who are just starting out their own wellness business? I recently became certified in teaching Hatha Yoga and am getting my first classes rolling. Could you give me (us - lightbliss fans!) some advice/anecdotes on how to begin your own business? What were your experiences when you first started out? How did you attract students? How do you stay positive when financially the abundance is not there yet?

I'm not necessarily asking for you business advice (although I'd love to hear it!), but basically some guidance, motivation, helpful hints and maybe a story of how you got from where you started to where you are today. I'd love to read the HoopGirl autobiography ;)

You are such an inspiration, Christabel, thanks for sharing!
Rita
